Tryouts are held at the beginning of each sports season and team cuts are usually necessary. Athletes must maintain their grades to remain eligible to play/practice. Students receiving a detention may be required to miss a practice or game to serve it. More details can be found in the RVCS Athletic Handbook. (See link below.)
A current, annual sports physical is required before an athlete can try out for a sport. RVCS holds a FREE sports physical clinic in May of each year for RVCS students.
For the 2016-17 academic year, a sports physical must be dated after May 1, 2016.
Part-time students may participate on RVCS athletic teams if they are enrolled in at least three classes at RVCS and one other academic class.
An Athletic Participation Fee is paid by each member of the team. This fee helps offset the cost of providing interscholastic sports, including transportation. (See page 11 of the Athletic Handbook for list of fees.)
